We are reaching the next milestone in the project to promote the digital competences of language educators. The first learning unit is ready and soon ready for use! We want to give you a short preview of what this means.
All you need to get started is a laptop, PC, tablet, or smartphone. You can also simply download the units and use them later from anywhere. Miles Learning GmbH provides the learning platform for the learning units.
The COVID-19 pandemic boosted digitalisation in the educational sector and media skills are more important than ever before. Europe is facing many challenges as a result! Cross-national cooperation can also be improved through language acquisition. Therefore, it was decided in the project that learning units for educators would be developed. Digitalisation is playing an important role in the teaching skills of educators. For modern learning, it is important that teachers act in an appropriate media-pedagogical way and prepare the content for the learners.
All learning units are prepared in such a way that they are suitable for every learner. You can decide for yourself which content is important to you. If you are already familiar with an area, you can skip it and go on with another topic for as long as you like. Language teachers and trainers, researchers and the general education sector can benefit from the units. These are always designed with text content, illustrations, at least one video and a self-reflection task.
The content of the first learning unit focuses specifically on the creation of suitable learning materials. This unit is designed to provide an overview of teaching options and tips and tricks for educators. Even experienced language teachers can improve their teaching units with new tools such as podcasts or different types of learning videos. Instructions for these tools can also be found in the learning unit.
Did you know that you can spice up your Power Point presentations with a quiz? Everyone has probably experienced the situation when a completely overfilled slide is only read out and you don’t have the chance to acquire what you have learned yourself. By including short polls or quizzes, you can motivate the participants to think along with you and the content will be better remembered. You don’t have to create your own infographics, there are already easier online tools for that. And you can also create suitable learning videos for your target group yourself. You will learn all these tips and tricks in the first learning unit!
We hope this gives you a small overview and motivates you to upgrade your learning materials!
